Russian top diplomat, EU ambassador to Russia discuss bilateral relations, Ukraine, Syria
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and EU Ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer discussed relations between Moscow and Brussels, as well as regulation in Ukraine and Syria, during Thursday’s meeting, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed, TASS reports.
"During the talks, [the diplomats] reviewed the current state of problematic issues and ways of normalizing the relations between Russia and the EU," the ministry noted. "The Russian side stressed the importance of fully restarting sectoral dialogues suspended on the EU’s initiative, as well as intensifying the rhythm of foreign policy consultations between Russia and the EU on issues that present a mutual interest."
Lavrov and Ederer also discussed several issues on the international agenda, including regulation in Syria and Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
