Saudi prince killed in helicopter crash
A Saudi prince Mansour bin Muqrin has died in a helicopter crash, state television channel Al-Ekhbariya said.
Prince Mansour bin Muqrin died along with several of his colleagues on Sunday night. The prince, who is also the deputy governor of Saudi Arabia’s southern Asir province, was killed near the kingdom’s border with war-torn Yemen.
Several officials were on board the helicopter but state media did not reveal the cause of the crash. Local newspaper Okaz reported the helicopter went down while the officials were taking a tour of an area near the coast in Asir, which borders Yemen.
Arabian news channel Al Arabiya reported that the aircraft was carrying eight people, all of whom died in the accident.
