Sergey Chebotarev sums up results of 2019 for North Caucasus
Russian Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Sergey Chebotarev summed up the main results of the socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District in 2019 yesterday and spoke about the plans for 2020.
In the North Caucasus, ten months saw the largest increase in investments - 8.1%, he said. The subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District demonstrated an increase in livestock production in agricultural organizations of 8.6%, the head of the department said.
Chebotarev drew attention to the fact that there has been the largest in Russia natural population increase in the North Caucasus Federal District, as well as a decrease in mortality rates.
Of the 2018-2019 projects, 12 projects were implemented, which allowed creating about 800 jobs and attracting 2.7 billion rubles to the regions as off-budget investments, he noted. A number of projects are at the final stage, the Minister for North Caucasus Affairs said, adding that it will create about 1 thousand jobs.
The protection of capital construction objects in the Stavropol Territory, North Ossetia, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria from natural emergencies is highlighted as a separate subprogram. It is provided for 545 million rubles in 2019, Chebotarev said.
The minister drew attention to the increasing tourist flow, and recalled that the Mamison special economic zone was included in the tourist cluster of the district this September.
Commenting on the introduction of the resort fee, Chebotarev said it has already produced a real positive effect. According to him, last year about 3% of tourists refused to pay it, and this year their number is less than 1%. The minister recommended to visit the ski resorts of the North Caucasus Federal District - Arkhyz, Elbrus and Veduchi - on New Year's holidays.
