Shoigu on Russia's meeting with Turkish delegation
Foreign and defence ministers from Russia and Turkey will discuss the United States' decision to withdraw troops from Syria at their meeting in Moscow, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
The meeting comes as Ankara says it will launch a military operation against the main U.S.-backed Kurdish militia controlling nearly a third of the country.
Shoigu noted that the talks will focus on the situation in and around Idlib, as well as "what can and should be done" when the U.S. withdraws from Syria, the AP reported.
The Syrian military entered the Kurdish stronghold of Manbij yesterday as part of an apparent agreement.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Washington would withdraw roughly 2,000 U.S. troops in Syria.
