Six miners killed by collapsed rock in Georgia's Tkibuli
Six miners have been killed in an accident at the Mindeli coal mine in Tkibuli in Georgia's Imereti region, the Georgian Interior Ministry said.
According to the Interior Ministry, the accident occurred early on Thursday morning.
"The preliminary information available indicates that walls in one of the mine's tunnel deformed, causing the tunnel roof to collapse," it said, adding that several people were admitted to hospitals with injuries.
When commenting on the six workers killed in the accident, the Interior Ministry said that they sustained fatal injuries and could not be saved, Interfax reported.
