Slutsky: other Western parliamentarians to visit Crimea after French
New delegations of Western parliamentarians will arrive in Crimea soon, following the French lawmakers who will visit the peninsula today, the head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Communication with Compatriots, Leonid Slutsky, said after a meeting of French parliamentarians with the speaker Sergei Naryshkin.
"This is not a single initiative," the head of the State Duma Committee said. "I hope that this is the first, symbolic, historic, but not the last delegation of our Western colleagues to visit Crimea and Sevastopol in the foreseeable future," Slutsky said.
However, he did not mention specific states, recalling the unprecedented pressure exerted on members of the French delegation before their visit to Russia, TASS reports.
