Southern Military District's servicemen practice engaging in encounter battles at Rostov region drills
Motorized infantry divisions stationed in Russia's Rostov region have practiced engaging in encounter battles at the Kadamovsky training range near Novocherkassk, the press service of the Southern Military District said.
"During bilateral battalion tactical drills, around 2,000 servicemen practiced completing tasks on maneuver defense and offensive launch, demonstrating their mobility when engaging in various tactical actions in the conditions of general combat," TASS cited the press service as saying.
Around 250 units of military weapons and equipment are used in the drills, including T-72B3 tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Tigr armored vehicles, Tornado-G multiple rocket launcher systems and Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers.
