Tina Khidasheli and Ursula von der Lyayen discuss military contacts between Georgia and Germany
Today in Berlin talks were held with the Ministers of Defence of Georgia and Germany, Tina Khidasheli and Ursula von der Lyayen, during which the participation of Georgian soldiers in the international peacekeeping missions and the possibility of Georgia joining NATO were discussed.
According to Khidasheli, the meeting was positive. "The Minister of Defense reiterated the full support of Georgia. Of course, she thanked us for our contribution to global security. As is known, the Georgian contingent is under German command at one of the bases in Afghanistan. For us it is very important that these progress and dynamics have a permanent character, and I'm sure that we will be able to bring the relationship between Germany and Georgia and NATO-Georgian relations to a new level with the support of the German authorities," the Georgian Minister of Defense expressed confidence
