Trump warns China not to retaliate against tariff increase
U.S. President Donald Trump warned China not to retaliate against a hike in tariffs he imposed last week.
Trump raised tariffs from 10% to 25% on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports on Friday after a breakdown of negotiations.
"There will be nobody left in China to do business with. Very bad for China, very good for USA! But China has taken so advantage of the U.S. for so many years, that they are way ahead (Our Presidents did not do the job). Therefore, China should not retaliate-will only get worse! the U.S. President wrote on Twitter.
At the same time, Trump stressed that he says openly to Chinese President Xi Jinping and all of his "many friends in China" that Beijing will be hurt very badly if it doesn’t make a deal because companies will be forced to leave China for other countries.
