Turkish companies ready to invest in Georgian energy sector
Turkey's Calik Holding and GE Power companies are interested in the implementation of major investment projects in the Georgian energy sector, the press service of the Georgian Prime Minister said.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with the Chairman of the Calik Holding, Ahmet Calik, and the Vice President of GE Power, Ricardo Cordoba. The sides discussed planned projects. The representatives of the companies expressed interest in the construction of a new combined cycle thermal power plant, wind and hydro power plants and gas storage facility, Sputnik Georgia reports.
"The company's motivation to implement energy-sector related projects is considerable. This implies construction of wind and hydroelectric plants with the capacity installation of 80 megawatts, as well as the building of a new thermal power plant. The procedure of an expression of interest has already been launched," the Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said.
