Turkish tennis players become champions of Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku
Turkey's tennis team became the best at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, both among men and women, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.
Turkish player Altug Celikbilek won a gold medal in the men’s tennis singles competitions, defeating his teammate Anil Yuksel. Qatar's Mubarak Zayid won a bronze medal.
Turkish tennis players also win a gold medal the men's team event, the second place is occupied by Pakistan, the third - by Uzbekistan.
Ayla Aksu from Turkey won a gold medal in women’s tennis singles competitions. Another Turkish player Berfu Cengiz won a silver medal. A bronze medal was won by the Uzbek player Sabina Sharipova.
Turkey won a gold medal in the women's team competitions, Uzbekistan was second, Turkmenistan - third.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones.
