Two Iranians prevented from smuggling heroin to Georgia
Georgian police have detained two Iranian citizens for smuggling drugs into Georgia in especially large quantities, the Georgian Interior Ministry said.
Two Iranians were detained at the Tbilisi International Airport for possessing half a kilogram of heroin.
"They attempted to smuggle the drug in from Iran," Agenda.ge cited the ministry as saying.
The Interior Ministry added that the Georgian police "are intolerant" of drug crimes and are in active communication with partner states to identify and arrest drug traffickers.
