Viktor Sadovnichy: we are proud of MSU Baku branch
Lomonosov Moscow State University is proud of its Baku branch, the rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy said on the sidelines of the presentation of the 5th All-Russia Science Festival (NAUKA+), speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.
"We are proud of the Baku branch. It is very well supported by the state, it has a wonderful rector - Professor Nargiz Pashayeva, who is an outstanding scholar-philologist. There is a very comfortable environment for the work of our professors in the Baku branch," the rector of Moscow State University noted in the first place.
"Now the branch is thinking about the broader work not just in Baku, but also in cooperation with other countries, relevant projects were already prepared, I think that the Baku branch of the Moscow State University is an example of mutually beneficial work, both for us, the Moscow University, because we work and study there with pleasure, and for the republic, because the staff, prepared by the branch, is the elite of Azerbaijan in many directions," Viktor Sadovnichy stressed.
According to him, it is important to broaden the teaching of Russian language in Azerbaijani schools so that applicants from all over Azerbaijan can enter the Baku branch of Moscow State University. "We must somehow think over the preparation of the schoolchildren, because our lectures are in Russian, and we should not miss talented children from distant towns and cities, and let them freely enter our branch," the rector of the Moscow State University concluded.
Yesterday, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo CIS office Sergei Malenko said about Azerbaijan's increased interest in Russian language. He thanked the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his attention to Russian language.
