"Wish we had arena like this" - participants of Baku World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics

The participants of the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku, which will start on Saturday, speaking with correspondents of Vestnik Kavkaza, expressed their admiration for the conditions created for the athletes, the coaches and sports officials by Azerbaijani organizers.

The head of the British delegation, coach of the British tumbling team Zoe Stiles, said it is her first visit to Baku and she is impressed by the level of organization of the tournament. "It is a great place, everybody is very friendly and helpful. And our hotel is just amazing," she said, adding that she cannot wait to see the National gymnastic arena and train there with the gymnasts from the national team.

Zoe Styles also told about the British athletes, which arrived in Baku. "We brought here a team of young men, one of them is 16-17 years old, and these are his first adult international competitions - that's why he hopes to perform clean and get to the final stage. We also have two girls. One of them took the second place at the recent World Cup, the second girl is also a very strong athlete, who won several medals at European and World championships," the coach of the British tumbling team said.

The Belgium coach for trampoline gymnastics Anek Dyuert noted the extremely high level of arrangement of the National gymnastics arena. "We just saw the arena and I can say that it is very good - wish we had an arena like this in Belgium," she wished.

The Belgian national trampoline team will remember the Baku World Cup forever as it will be the country's debut in this series of competitions. "It is our first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics. We brought here only one trampoline gymnast, but we hope that we will succeed. This World Cup will be held under new rules, which are more objective, and I like this approach, it is better for sports," Anek Dyuert stressed.

The new Olympic cycle’s first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling will take place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on February 18-19. 85 trampoline and tumbling gymnasts from 15 countries will take part in the competitions on the basis of the new Code of Points coming into force in 2017. The qualifications will take place on February 18, finals will be held on February 19.
