Xi Jinping arrives in Russia for state visit
Chinese President Xi Jinping, who has arrived in Moscow today, believes that his state visit to Russia will be very fruitful and serve as an impetus to advancing bilateral relations.
"I am certain that this visit will certainly yield fruitful results and serve as an incentive to the steady development of Chinese-Russian relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction in the new era," the Chinese president said upon arrival in Moscow.
"Together with our Russian partners we are prepared to propel bilateral relations to a higher level," TASS cited Xi as saying.
Today, Xi Jinping is due to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Shortly after their talks in the Kremlin, the leaders will attend the official ceremony of handing over two Chinese giant pandas to the Moscow Zoo. In the afternoon, Putin and Xi Jinping are due to attend a concert in the Bolshoi Theater on occasion of the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
On June 6-7, Xi Jinping will become a key guest at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
