Zakharova: Europe suffers from US pressure on Russia
By exerting pressure on Russia, the US seeks to weaken Europe, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated, speaking at the 'Candidate' forum, organized by 'United Russia'.
"Right now there is no confrontation between the two systems, we are largely in favor of the same things – freedom, democracy, a market economy. We have different views on a number of problems. I think saying that currently there is a repeat of the Cold War is wrong," TASS quotes her as saying.
"I believe that one of the targets of the attack of the United States is Europe, but the US can't touch its allies directly. However, bullets fired at Russia ricochet on Europe, dealing truly severe blows," Zakharova believes.
