Zakharova: Lavrov to meet Foreign Ministers of Japan, Syria, China on UNGA sidelines
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to meet his counterparts from Japan, Syria, China and Israel on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said Friday, Reuters reports.
Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation at the high-level session of the UNGA next week.
"The work is underway to prepare meetings of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with foreign ministers of Chile, Algeria, Hungary, Cuba, Qatar, Japan, Colombia, Morocco," Zakharova told a briefing.
According to her, also under preparations are "meetings with Palestinian president, Jordan's foreign minister, president of the international Committee of the Red Cross , Serbian president, Israeli foreign minister as well as foreign ministers of Denmark and Ecuador, Sudanese prime minister, Slovak foreign minister, Syrian foreign minister, as well as foreign ministers of Mexico, China, prime minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, deputy prime minister of Cambodia, vice president of Venezuela."
