Zarif: Iran not seeking confrontation with U.S.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran is not seeking confrontation with the United States, but will not escape defending itself
The Iranian diplomat does not believe U.S. President Donald Trump wants war with Iran, but said that Trump could be lured into a conflict.
"I don’t think he wants war,” Zarif said at the Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York. "But that doesn’t exclude him being basically lured into one," Reuters cited him as saying.
ZArif said that those who have designed the policies that are being pursued do not want a negotiated solution.
