Azerbaijan to build over 60 small dams

Azerbaijan has hydro potential to produce 40 billion KW/h and technical potential for 16 billion KW/h. Small dams may produce 5 billion KW/h, Trend reports.


The State Company for Alternate Energy says that the country would benefit by building over 60 small dams on rivers. It would electrify residential areas annd reduce dependence on fuel.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has opened new fueling stations in Georgia, making a total of 110, Trend reports.SOCAR Georgia Petroleum owns 110 petroleum stations and 16 CNG stations. About 3-4 petroleum and some 15 CNG stations will open in Georgia this year.The SOCAR plans to have a total of 35 stations by the end of the year. The network will consist of over 130 stations.The SOCAR has petroleum stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
