Azerbaijan to build over 60 small dams

Azerbaijan has hydro potential to produce 40 billion KW/h and technical potential for 16 billion KW/h. Small dams may produce 5 billion KW/h, Trend reports.
The State Company for Alternate Energy says that the country would benefit by building over 60 small dams on rivers. It would electrify residential areas annd reduce dependence on fuel.

The Azerbaijani Central Bank and Tax Ministry have prepared a package of proposals to stimulate cashless payments.Deputy Chairman of the board of the bank Alim Guliyev said that wages to staff should be paid using plastic cards. The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will build a complex for processing oil and gas for $17 billion located about 60km away from Baku, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said yesterday.The facility will produce 1.7 million tons of products. Its refineries will process about 10 million tons of oil and 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year. Oil processing will be at a level o 95%, light petroleum products 85%.
