Adalyat Muradov has replaced Shamsaddin Gajiyev as the new Rector of the Azerbaijani State Economic University. He was presented to the staff of the university yesterday. He has become the third rector of the University during Education Minister Michael Jabbarov’s terms of office. The heads of the Ganja and Sumgayit Universities were dismissed over corruption investigations, as was Gajiyev himself.

Ismail Agakishiyev, Chairman of the board of directors of the Analysis, Consulting, PR Union of Companies, has rounded up the international conference “Geopolitics of the Caspian-Black Sea Region: security problems” in Baku yesterday, stating that all countries of the Caspian-Black Sea Region had their own vision of security and all agreed that joint projects would bring them closer. Joint projects, in his words, would weaken influence of non-regional forces, such as NATO, in the area.

BP Regional President Gordon Birrell said that realization of the Shah Deniz-2 project worth $25 billion started, Business Georgia reports.Construction of a parallel pipeline with a length of 387km in Azerbaijan and 55km in Georgia will be built. New station to regulate pressure and two compression stations in Georgia will be installed.16 billion cubic meters of gas will be extracted within the second stage of Shah Deniz development. 6 billion cubic meters will be exported to Turkey and 10 billion to Europe.
