Russia to grant over 3 bln rubles for construction in Abkhazia
Alexander Khloponin, Russian Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, said at the 7th session of the Russian-Abkhaz intergovernmental commission in Moscow on December 11 that over 3 billion rubles will be granted for construction in Abkhazia in 2014-2015 for the complex plan on assistance to socio-economic development in 2010-2012.
Over 10 billion rubles have been invested for realization of the plan, and about 100 buildings have been constructed. About 55 have almost been built. A long-term investment program will be prepared in 2015. It will be discussed in 2014.
Khloponin noted that the investments should boost economic development in Abkhazia in 2015. He wants development of a strategic logistical center, processing industry, agriculture. Khloponin emphasized on tourism as the priority field of development.
A treasury system will be launched in 2015-2016 to make the budget more transparent. This will require the training of 180 people, he said.
Sukhumi will host the 8th session of the intergovernmental commission in Q1 2014.
