Sevastopol may start importing cigars from Nicaragua

Nicaraguan Ambassador to Russia Juan Ernesto Vasquez Araya is to meet with Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the Crimean Federal District Oleg Belaventsev and Governor of Sevastopol Sergey Menyaylo. The diplomat proposed switching grain offloading from Novorossiysk to Sevastopol. He added that Crimea could also import Nicaraguan rum, cigars, coffee and bananas, TASS reports.

75,000 tons of grain have been purchased this year and 25,000 more will be purchased, according to the ambassador.

Specialists from Sevastopol could help Nicarague modernize its fishing vessels, Juan Ernesto Vasquez Araya said.

Belaventsev proposed opening a Nicaraguan trading center in Sevastopol. Menyaylo said that agreements may be reached at the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum on June 18-20.
