Russian TV companies to broadcast Sochi Olympics as single pool
Russian TV companies will form a single pool to broadcast the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. The pool includes Sports Broadcasting, First Channel, VGTRK, NTV Plus,, head of the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) Romero Manolo said, ITAR-TASS reports.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported that the leading Russian TV broadcasting corporations attended the first International Meeting of Broadcasters of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Manolo said that compact situation of Olympic facilities in Sochi benefits broadcasting, unique landscape of the Caucasus inspires reporters to write stories. He added that he was surprised at skiing disciplines called Alpine. Manolo went on to joke that they may as well be called the Caucasus disciplines after the Olympics.
