CSTO still expects Uzbekistan to restore membership
CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said at the 10th session of the Interstate Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation of the CSTO that Uzbekistan’s quitting the organization was temporary, RIA Novosti reports.
Uzbekistan quit the organization in June 2012.
The organization believes that Uzbekistan cannot maintain its national security alone, especially with the Afghan factor.
Bordyuzha said that a project was prepared to determine further steps on Uzbekistan’s leaving the CSTO.
