EU Chief Diplomat Catherine Ashton will visit Tehran tomorrow on invitation of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Trend reports.It will be her first visit to Iran. She will me assisted by her deputy Helga Maria Schmid.Ashton plans to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Ashton will visit Isfahan on March 10.

In Jakarta, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has denied Israel’s accusations about a shipment of Iranian missiles to the Gaza Strip, ITAR-TASS reports.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed in Los Angeles on Wednesday that the Israeli Naval Forces intercepted a shipment with Iranian missiles for Gaza terrorists. The PM accused Iran of lying to the Group of Six in Geneva about its peaceful ambitions.

South Korea will make a first payment of $550 million to Iran for imports of crude oil under an interim nuclear deal that has provided limited relief from sanctions, sources with direct knowledge of the matter said on March 5, writes Trend. The payment on Friday will come after Japan made the first and second oil payment to Iran in February and earlier this week.

Ismail Agakishiyev, Chairman of the board of directors of the Analysis, Consulting, PR Union of Companies, has rounded up the international conference “Geopolitics of the Caspian-Black Sea Region: security problems” in Baku yesterday, stating that all countries of the Caspian-Black Sea Region had their own vision of security and all agreed that joint projects would bring them closer. Joint projects, in his words, would weaken influence of non-regional forces, such as NATO, in the area.
