Iran to present new drone

Iran will present the new Hamaseh drone on May 7, Trend cites Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi.

Iran will present new ballistic and cruise missiles, bombs, submarine in the next four months. Iranian Armed Forces will get new helicopters, jets and drones.

Iran is to hold the first drills with drones on October 23 – November 21, said Brigadier General Kumars Kheydari, deputy commander of the Iranian Ground Forces, reports.Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, the commander of the Iranian Ground Forces, announced drills with use of drones earlier. They will be organized in Isfahan or Qum. Iran’s largest drone, the Fotros, was presented on November 18, 2013. The role of Iranian drones is more significant in the light of shooting down an Israeli drone over Natanz.

The Iranian armed forces have been equipped with 155-mm Hoveyzeh howitzers (U.S. M109A1 analogue), 14.5-mm Shaher sniper rifles (2012 model with a range of 3km), and armored vehicles similar to Russia's BTR-82, Trend reports. Iran has been manufacturing its own tanks, armored vehicles, missiles, radars, submarines and jet fighters since 1992.

Asgar Zarean, the deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, has accused France, the UK and Germany of blocking purchases of nuclear machines abroad under the leadership of the U.S., reports. Zarean called it industrial sabotage. He noted that the Atomic Energy Organization and the Ministry for Intelligence and National Security would prevent such sabotage.

Iraq doesn't need Iran's military aid, Iranian Minister of Defense, General Hosein Dehgan said. "Baghdad does not need our military forces to take part in the operation against terrorists. The Iraqi state and the Iraqi nation can handle it by themselves," he said.
