Chechnya celebrates Chechen Language Day

On April 25 one of the most important holidays of the Chechen Republic is being celebrated – the Day of the Chechen Language.Chechens were congratulated by the head of the Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.

According to him, "among the holiday dates Chechen Language Day holds a special place of honor. It was established to ensure that we cherished and developed, passed on from generation to generation our native language, our wealth and property. The question of respect for the mother language has always been a priority value, because it is the backbone of our national identity."

According to the head of the Chechen Republic, "it is a huge responsibility, because the Chechen language is the pride of the people, its soul. If a language disappears, there won’t be people. That is why it should be known well, and cherished carefully. The native language should sound not only from high tribunes, but in every home. Only then  we can raise  children with a love and respect for the Chechen language."

On behalf of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from Chechnya, the Chechen people were congratulated  by the State Duma deputy, Adam Delimkhanov.

"This is a special holiday, it is important for every one of our compatriots. True love of his homeland is unthinkable without the love of his language. A native language is the soul of a people," he said.
