Seasons of Armenian culture program in Tbilisi

Georgia will hold a seasons of Armenian culture program on May 3-5
within the Armenian-Georgian cooperation program, News Armenia
reports, citing the press-service of Armenia's Ministry of Culture.


The event will be see performances by the Armenian State Youth
Orchestra, a ballet group from the National Academic Theater of Opera
and Ballet of Alexander Spendiarian, and the quartet of Aram
Khachaturian. The house museum of Sergey Paradjanov will present an
exhibition - 'The Historical Memorials of Armenia'. Laureates of the
Armenian Presidential Prize in music for 2009 will perform at a gala
concert.


The Armenian State Drama Theater of Petros Adamian in Tbilisi will
perform the plays 'Khatabala', of Gabriel Sundukian, 'Ruin Keepers' of
Gurgen Khandjian. They also plan a joint Armenian-Georgian play
'Treatise on the Scarf' based on Shakespeare's 'Othello', supervised
by Akop Kazanchian in Armenia and Robert Sturua in Georgia.


Georgia will also unveil memorial plaques to the world-reknowned
Armeinaion-born director Rouben Mamoulian and World Chess Champion
Tigran Petrosian. The Armenian delegation will be headed by Armenia's
Deputy Minister of Culture Artur Pogosyan.
