6 die in car crash in Turkey

A bus crashed killing six people and injuring twelve in the Turkish province of Tokat, Trend reports.

The surviving victims were taken to the nearest hospital.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cancelled his state reception to mark Republic Day due to the collapse of a mine in Karaman. He said on October 29 that he would be there in 1-2 hours, RIA Novosti reports.The collapsed mine was in Ermenek (Karaman Province). Its collapse on October 28 was followed by flooding. 18 of about 40 miners working there at that moment remain trapped at a depth of 350m. Rescuers hope that the miners managed to make it to safe areas underground.Republic Day is the anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic in 1923.

A mine collapsed in the Karaman Province of Turkey. 8 of the 23 miners trapped inside have been saved. The Hungarian consulate in Istanbul has been evacuated after the arrival of a parcel with yellow powder in it. The staffs of the consulates-general of Germany, Canada and Belgium were evacuated on October 24 after receiving envelopes with similar powder, Trend reports.

Staff of Consulate Generals of Germany, Canada and Belgium in Istanbul have been evacuated over mail with yellow powder delivered to them. One man at the Canadian Consulate General touched the powder, six others were in the building at that moment. The powder has been sent for examination, TASS reports.
