Russian military man convicted for 8 years for spying for Georgia

A soldier of one of the units of the Southern Military District was convicted by the North Caucasus District Military Court for spying for Georgia.

According to the investigators, Denis Kaymakov, while serving in Abkhazia, deliberately collected and kept secret information, which he then passed on to representatives of the Department of Military Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, causing damage to Russia's security, ITAR-TASS reports.

The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 8 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.
