3 organizers of Moscow airport blast get life imprisonment
Islam and Ilez Yandiyevs and Bashir Khamkhoyev have been sentenced to life for killing 37 and injuring 172 people at the Domodedovo Airport of Moscow in 2011. Ahmed Yevloyev got 10 years of prison. Prosecutors requested imprisonment of the suspects in mid-October.
The blast happened at the international terminal of the airport at 4.32 pm on January 24, 2011. The bomb the suspects used was equivalent to 7kg of TNT. Investigators say that the attack was organized by Doku Umarov, leader of Imarat Kavkaz, who controlled the gang of Aslan Byutukayev and Supyan Abdullayeva.
The four sentenced militants helped suicide bomber Magomed Yevloyev arrive in Moscow from Ingushetia. They handed him an explosive belt.
