Russian Muslim spiritual leaders say more mosques should be built in Moscow

The Russian Council of Muftis says more more mosques should be built in Moscow. According to Muslim spiritual leaders, there should be at least one mosque in every district of the city.

"It's quite clear that a mosque should be built in every district of the city soon," Interfax cites Deputy head of the Council Rushan Abbyasov as saying.

The idea has recently been rejected by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. According to the mayor, there are enough mosques in the city and no new ones should be constructed.
