Leader of Kaspiyskaya Group killed in Makhachkala
The police have identified the militants killed in Makhachkala, capital of Dagestan, yesterday as Gasan Abatayev, nicknamed Hasan (born in 1986), leader of the Kaspiyskaya Group of militants, Ratmir Agayev, nicknamed Umar (1990), and Israpil Ibragimov (1992), RIA Novosti reports.
Abatayev had a criminal record for robberies. The group was engaged in racketeering, organizing blasts in stores, attacks on police officers and judges. They murdered R. Lukmanov, head of the Dagestani Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service in August 2013.
The counter-terrorism operation regime was imposed in the outskirts of Makhachkala on Tuesday.
