Russia to send robots into space
Russia plans to send robotized satellites into space to improve communications with distant districts, monitor the environment and provide technical assistance to astronauts, said Mikhail Sonkin, deputy governor of the Tomsk Oblast for science and education complex and innovation policy, Interfax reports.
The robots will be developed by Institute for RAS Institute for Durability Physics and Material Studies, Energia, Reshetnikov ISS, Moscow Aviation Institute, Samara Aerospace University, Tomsk Politechnical University, Tomsk State University. An agreement will be signed in Moscow in late September to form a concern. By the end of the year, development of the project will have been completed. Its realization will start in 2015.
