Russian Sixth State Duma holds last session

The Russian State Duma of the sixth convocation, elected in 2011, held today its last plenary session. Speaking about the results of the lower house of the Russian Parliament's work, its chairman Sergey Naryshkin said that "the main result is that the State Duma has lived and worked with the country in the era of great economic and political changes." The deputies themselves name the laws on the liberalization of the party and electoral legislation, which simplified the requirements for registration of political parties and their access to the parliamentary elections, as the key ones adopted by the current State Duma.
