Jewish Center opens in Zhukovka
On the eve of Hanukah the Moscow Region hosted the opening ceremony of the new Jewish Community Center ‘Zhukovka.’
Zhukovka is the biggest community center to have been built in Russia in the past 15 years. The complex was designed by an English architect by order of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia. Two stores of the Center have all the necessary rooms for servicing and ordinary community life: prayer halls for men and women, two mikvahs (pools for the restoration of ritual purity), a kosher restaurant, an events hall and lecture halls. Those who want to spend Shabbat or Jewish holidays in Zhukovka can stay in guest rooms.
President of the FJCR Alexander Boroda became the rabbi of Zhukovka.
