Construction of all major training bases where the athletes will prepare for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi will be completed by 2012. This was announced today the Minister of Sport and Tourism Vitaly Mutko at a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, YuGA.ru reports.The Minister said that in 2011 will be completed  five of these bases. Speaking of winter sports, Mutko noted that Russia so far has no ski jumps or centers for freestyle snowboarding.

Nalchik stadium to be put in order by April

The leaders of the football club Spartak Nalchik plan to fix the stadium in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria by April 3, RIA Novosti reports, with reference to the official website of Spartak Nalchik.In March, the republic's Spartak Stadium did not manage to pass the licensing process, and Spartak were forced to hold the match with Krylia Sovetov of Samara at the backup stadium in Grozny. A consortium of higher education centers will train staff for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, head of the Saint-Petersburg State University for Services and Economy said, Yuga.ru reports. The consortium received orders from the Ministry of Education and Science and the administration of the Krasnodar Territory and Sochi. Training of hotel staff in Sochi will start in March. The consortium consists of nine higher education centers.

The Daily Telegraph published a libellous article on the Justice and Development Party of Turkey and will pay 25,000 pounds as compensation to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The paper reported that Erdogan had received money from Iran. The paper acknowledged the mistake and apologized. Erdogan’s lawyer Emma Edhem initiated the suit against The Daily Telegraph. The court ordered The Daily Telegraph to pay the sum on March 3.
