Leading Russian companies fall in Fitch’s rating

The international rating agency Fitch announced a decrease of the ratings and a worsening of the forecasts for 13 major Russian companies.The foreign and national currency IDR of Gazprom, LUKOIL and Russian Railways were decreased from BBB to BBB-. NOVATEK’s rating remained at the level of BBB-, but the forecast was changed to a negative one.Ratings by Fitch show that the companies are restricted by the sovereign rating at the moment, RIA Novosti reports.

Lastochka trains to stay in Sochi

Russia to build Iran's first railway-manufacturing factory

The Moscow-controlled All-Russian Research and Project-Construction Institute of Metallurgy Mechanical Engineering has offered to build a factory for Iran worth $400-500 million to manufacture up to 600,000 tons of railway parts a year, ITAR-TASS reports. The Isfahan Metallurgy Works may become the first railway manufacturer in the Middle East in August 2015. Iran needs about 150,000 tons of railway parts a year. Russian Railways signed a memorandum with Iranian Railways in late August 2014 to speed up realization of railway projects.
