Patriotic education through social networks

The pan-Russian action 'Russian history test of the Fatherland' is to take place on December 19th 2015 as part of the federal project ''I am proud of Russia every day!" with the support of the State Duma. Natalya Kuvshinova, the Chair of the Youth Parliament at the State Duma, says that the Youth Parliament considers patriotic work as one of the key directions: “We are doing our best to actively develop the legislative direction in this regard and cooperate actively with our senior colleagues from the State Duma. We have recently prepared our appeal to the Minister of Education Science of the Russian Federation about the position of young people to extend hours devoted to study of the national history of the Great Patriotic War and World War I.”

Kuvshinova urges to stop the practice of falsification and the rewriting of history. “We should start a comprehensive and systematic study of history from the legal regulation in elementary school, as well as organize various patriotic actions. We can constantly tell about real historical facts and events. We are responsible for providing children with this information. Certainly, a significant number of patriotic projects are implemented in the context of the patriotic youth parliament. One of them is the patriotic project on such social networks as Twitter, Instagram, VKontakte, which is called ''Every day I am proud of Russia''. It is aimed at the everyday popularization of information about great scientists, outstanding events and achievements among citizens, young people, as well as the younger generation, including citizens of Russia and residents of other states, because it is necessary to work with the young generation not only in the context of some round tables, but also in their environment,” Kuvshinova thinks.
