Music of Ingush mountains in Moscow
By Vestnik Kavkaza
The legendary Ingush band of LoaM gave a concert at the State Theatre of Folklore of Russian Song dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the band. Years have passed, life has changed, but the commitment to good ideals, love of one's native land and faithful friendship have remained unchanged in the works of the musicians. The songs of the famous quartet became very popular. In honor of the anniversary of the group, they decided to reunite again in order to play old and new works for their listeners.
During the intermission Bekov Ibrahim, soloist of the group, spoke about the history of the team and shared his future plans with Vestnik Kavkaza: “This band was formed in 1994. These were difficult times, but we managed to find strength and initiatives. We had a friend who formed our band. His name was Ruslan Naurbiyev. Unfortunately, he has already passed away. The band was formed here in Moscow by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Ingushetia under the Russian president. A lot of people supported us: our burgeoning entrepreneurs, the Government and President Aushev. It was created out of the blue. But we had the desire to become musicians. Being musicians, we have plans to continue our activity and keep on working. We will not play forever, that is why we should find young performers who can replace us. We must go on. It is a good activity, people like it.”
The head of the Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov, who also visited the concert, told Vestnik Kavkaza: “I love these songs and the repertoire of the ensemble. I listen to them with great pleasure, because most of them are about patriotic morale and the spiritual direction.”
Yevkurov presented the musicians with awards and certificates of merit for outstanding achievements in the field of culture and the arts.
Muharbek Didigov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Safety, told Vestnik Kavkaza: “20 years ago, when the creative team of the LOAM (Naurbiyev, Bekov Dzeitov) was formed. It was a difficult period of formation relating to equipment and a creative search. But we must pay tribute to all the participants of the creative team, they did their best. And they made it into history.”
