The Fourth Conference on International Security is being held in Moscow. It is discussing problems of global security. From 2012 the Defense Ministry of Russia has been inviting foreign guests for discussion of the most topical problems of international security, including regional aspects. Representatives of defense ministries, experts, and scientists from more than 70 countries, as well as delegates from six international organizations are participating in the forum this year.

Behind the scenes of the conference, Chang Wanquan, the Defense Minister of China, told journalists that “China and Russia are the largest friendly neighbors and partners of strategic cooperation. Due to personal efforts by the head of China Xi Jinping and President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the relations between our countries and Armed Forces are developing at a high level. This not only meets the key interests of peoples of our countries, but is also favorable for peace and stability in our region and the whole world.”

Chang Wanquan says that at the conference he shared views on the regional and global situation and other issues of the mutual interest with his Russian colleague Sergei Shoygu due to the open and friendly atmosphere: “We have developed a wide range of agreements and we will move in this direction which has been defined by the heads of our countries, deepen cooperation between our Armed Forces to contribute to further development of our intergovernmental relations.”

Meanwhile, the deputy Defense Minister of Russia, Anatoly Antonov, told Xinhua that Russia and China didn’t cooperate against anybody, but they had no limits to increasing military and military-technical cooperation. “The bilateral relations in the military sphere are transparent. We don’t hide anything, and we confirm our striving to development of further partnership,” the deputy minister noted.

Antonov stressed that Russian-Chinese military relations were developing rapidly, including in the sphere of military education and military medicine. The Russian side shows a deep interest in the development of military medicine in China. The task was set of intensifying cooperation in the sphere and establish similar facilities in Moscow with the help of Chinese experts, Antonov said.
