100 Daesh militants killed in aerial bombardments in western Iraq
The Iraqi air force killed 100 Islamic State (ISIS, Daesh) militants in drone aerial bombardments in the west of Iraq, the Joint Operations Command (JOC) said on Tuesday (May 9), NRT reports.
Warplanes launched 11 anti-ISIS airstrikes in the town of Anna, 210 kilometers from western Anbar, killing 47 militants, the JOC said in a statement.
Meanwhile, in the ISIS-held town of al-Qaim, 350 kilometers from western Anbar, 53 other ISIS militants were killed in four airstrikes, the statement read.
According to the JOC, airstrikes destroyed general as well as ISIS car bomb-manufacturing sites, as well as suicide bombers' safe houses.
