ASIMDER: Turkish citizens visited occupied Nagorno-Karabakh must be charged with criminal liability
The Turkish citizens who paid an illegal visit to the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region must be charged with criminal liability and extradited to Azerbaijan, the head of the International Association to Fight Unfounded Armenian Allegations (ASİMDER), based in Turkey, Göksel Gülbey, said.
He noted that the association condemns their visit to the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
Gülbey said that Ufuk Uras, Ali Bayramoğlu, Sait Çetinoğlu and Erol Katırcıoğlu have long operated in Turkey with the support and in the interests of the Armenian lobby, publishing books to recognize the so-called 'Armenian genocide'.
"The visit of these people to Nagorno-Karabakh on the eve of the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is not an accident," Trend cited Gülbey as saying.
The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office earlier filed a criminal case against the Turkish citizens who violated Azerbaijan’s borders by colluding with individuals in Armenia and in the occupied Azerbaijani territories. The criminal case was initiated under Criminal Code’s Article 318.2 (illegally crossing Azerbaijan’s state borders). An appeal was sent to the Turkish law enforcement to detain the four individuals.
