Agreement on Russia's NPP construction in Egypt can be signed in June - media
The solemn ceremony of signing a package of commercial contracts for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt with the participation of the Russia’s state nuclear energy giant Rosatom may take place in June 2017, Egypt's economic newspaper Al Bursa writes with reference to a source in the country's government.
"After the contract is approved by the Egyptian State Council, the presidential administration will organize a solemn signing ceremony, which will be attended by the Presidents of Egypt and Russia. Such a ceremony is scheduled for this June," the newspaper cited the source as saying.
"The government is finalizing the negotiation of contracts. There are no differences with the Russian side, everyone is positive and wants to complete the work as soon as possible, taking in account the interests of all parties," the source said.
According to Egypt's Ministry of Energy of Egypt, two of four contracts have been agreed: for the construction of the station, its launch and preparation of Egyptian personnel.
