Almost 40 dual-nationality officials dismissed in Iran
39 officials with dual nationalities were dismissed in Iran for security reasons, the spokesman of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, said citing Intelligence Minister Mahmud Alavi.
He added that the 39 mentioned officials were among the 79 officials whose nationalities had been investigated by the Intelligence Ministry.
Alavi stressed that “if we are made sure by firm evidence that they hold dual nationalities, we will surely disqualify them.”
Meanwhile, Fars news agency cited Alavi as having said that officials have been told to “choose between dual nationality and their office.
