Armenian parliament restricts gambling commercials
Armenia's National Assembly gave its final approval to the legislative changes implying restrictions for gambling commercials.
Now drawings are allowed to be aired on a TV or radio channels as well as in internet, including any allusion to their sponsors, only at period of time between 21:00 and 06:00.
Radio companies, presenting peculiarities of their area, asked to allow them advertising from 8:00 to 20:00 saying that otherwise commercials are senseless. The bill also limits the duration of commercials.
The special marking 21+ is also necessary. The commercial must not contain participation of children or cartoon characters. Gambling advertisements are prohibited in buildings, catering units and lifts.
The passed amendments to the law on advertising imply fines up to AMD 1 million for offenders, ARKA reported.
