Azerbaijan honors memory of prominent composer Fikret Amirov
In Baku at the Alley of Honor an event took place today dedicated to the 93rd anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Azerbaijani composer, founder of the genre of symphonic mugham in world music Fikret Amirov.
"I always wanted and dreamed that Azerbaijani music could be heard in all parts of the world ... As music determines people! And if I manage to realize the dream of my life partially, then I would be happy.’’ This is how Fikret Amirov expressed his credo. He made a significant contribution to the treasury of the national musical culture and world art: his operas, ballets, symphonies, songs and ballads have a special place in the golden fund of the treasury of cultural wealth of the Azerbaijani people, Trend reports.
The artistic director of the Fikret Amirov Azerbaijan State Ensemble of Folk Instruments, Songs and Dances, People's Artist, Professor Agaverdi Pashayev, noted that all the composer's works were connected with his native land and its national spirit.
