Azerbaijan to build new road to Shusha
A new road from Fuzuli to Shusha will be built in a short time, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in his address to the nation due to the liberation of Aghdam district from occupation.
He stressed that all relevant instructions were given on the construction of a new road from Fuzuli to Shusha, funds were allocated from the President's contingency fund – initially 50 million manats.
"Additional funds will be allocated next year. According to my instructions, the Ahmadbayli-Alkhanli-Fuzuli-Shusha road is divided into several parts. I have instructed to involve several companies so that we can build this road without wasting time and in a short time," the Azerbaijani leader said.
Ilham Aliyev added that the Aghdam-Khankandi-Shusha highway will be opened in the near future.
The head of state also expressed confidence that the opening of communications will contribute to long-term peace in the region in the future.
