Azerbaijani FM: we support resolution of conflicts on basis of international law
Azerbaijan has long been suffering from military aggression of the neighboring Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process 7th Ministerial Conference in Baku.
"Therefore, we remain committed to supporting peace in the region. Azerbaijan supports the resolution of conflicts on the basis of norms and principles of international law," the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza cited the foreign minister as saying.
Mammadyarov stressed that Azerbaijan remains committed to support peace in Afghanistan. He noted that since its launch, the Istanbul Process has proved to be an effective multilateral platform, which provides a unique opportunity to ensure peace, stability and security in Afghanistan.
Talking about the agreement signed between Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Georgia and Turkmenistan to construct the Lapis Lazuli railway, Mammadyarov said it will facilitate the smooth movement of goods.
