BP to pay off Iran’s debts
British Petroleum (BP) is ready to settle debts to Iran, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum for International Affairs and Trading Amir-Hossein Zamaninia said.
According to him, several negotiations have been conducted between Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UK's BP on receiving Iran's share in Rhum gas field.
He highlighted that the British firm has voiced complete readiness to repay its debts to Iran asserting.
"The main cause of the long delay in collecting Iran's funds pertain to certain banking barriers," Iran Daily cited him as saying.
Zamaninia underlined that ground is paved through foreign banks and the debt is estimated to be cleared in the coming days.
