Baku has good chances of hosting 2024 Olympic Games
Tatyana Lebedeva, a member of the Federation Council Committee for Social Policy, senator of the Volgograd Oblast, Olympic Champion, has described her impressions of the First European Games in the Tribune broadcast. She said that Azerbaijan posed as an open country eager to attract tourists. The senator expressed amazement that Games which would normally take 7 years to organize needed only two years of preparations from scratch in Baku.
Lebedeva believes that Azerbaijan has very good chances of hosting the Olympic Games in 2024.
The Olympic champion noted that the next country hosting the European Games had a very high benchmark to reach.
The senator expressed amazement at the Athletes' Village. She said that the rooms had all the necessary conveniences, including a barber shop and a canteen open 24 hours a day.
Lebedeva added that Baku will host the Islamic Games and the Federation Cup in 2017 and will have no problems organizing them. 2017 will also mark the 100th anniversary of UEFA, and Baku will host one of its stages.
