Berdimuhamedov meets with Iranian Vice President
Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Iranian Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari in Ashgabat.
The head of state noted that Ashgabat and Tehran have considerable potential for expansion of their effective partnership, based on the successful experience of a long tradition of cooperation in various sectors.
He also noted the high level of the intergovernmental dialogue, which is filled with new content from year to year.
"Turkmenistan pays special attention to the development of fruitful relations with neighboring countries, including Iran," Trend cited the President of Turkmenistan as saying.
Shariatmadari, in his turn, said that Iran attaches great importance to the strengthening of friendly relations with Turkmenistan.
In addition, the value of regularly conducted joint business forums was noted. An important role is also given to the joint commission for economic cooperation as an effective mechanism for the deepening and diversification of mutually advantageous bilateral relations.
The energy and transport sectors are among the priority areas of interstate cooperation.
